AXIS Q16 Series
The AXIS Q16 Series is a family of indoor and outdoor-ready fixed network cameras, specialized to deliver outstanding image quality under demanding surveillance conditions, such as in poor or highly variable lighting.
The unique Lightfinder technology makes AXIS Q1602/-E cameras extremely sensitive to low light, effectively allowing the cameras to ‘see’ even in dark conditions.
Lightfinder technology
AXIS’ revolutionary Light-finder technology, incorporated in the Q16 Series, produces life-like colors in low-light conditions. The Q16’s performance in low light comes from a combination of sensor and lens design and carefully tuned image processing and noise reduction.
Wide Dynamic Range – Dynamic Capture
AXIS’ Wide Dynamic Range technology enables Q16 cameras to equalize dark and light regions within the same image. The result is video with exceptional clarity and sharpness, ensuring that no part of the image is too dark or too bright.
Wide Dynamic Range technology is especially effective for surveillance in highly variable lighting conditions, for instance when light comes through a glass window or entrance and creates both dark and bright zones. Even in these demanding conditions, Q16 Series cameras enable viewers to identify both people and objects easily and clearly.
Outdoor-ready models
AXIS Q16-E Network Cameras are ready out of the box for mounting outdoors. The IP66-rated cameras are protected against dust, rain, snow and sunlight, and can operate in temperatures as low as -40 ºC (-40 ºF). The cameras are powered by Power over Ethernet, so there is no need for a separate power cable. An integrated dehumidifying membrane is included. The camera design also permits easy mounting of an infrared illuminator under the enclosure.
Focus Assistant
All AXIS Q16 cameras incorporate the Focus Assistant, which indicates with a flashing green LED when an image is in focus after manually adjusting the lens.
Remote Back-Focus
Q16 Series cameras include a remote back-focus function that enables the focus to be fine-tuned from a computer.
Varied Resolutions Available
The Q1602 and Q1602-E are available with resolutions from 768×576 to 160×90.
The Q1604 and Q1604-E are available with resolutions from 1280 x 960 (1 MP) to 160 x 90. NOTE: The maximum resolution of the Q1604/-E is scalable to 1400 x 1050 with VAPIX software.
